Atheist is a band which influences my playing style a lot. Jazzed fused death metal with a lot of different rhythms happening. The riffs are catchy and played about as precisely as I have ever heard.

On top of being one of my favorite bands, they put on the best shows; note for note. Montreal's Cryptopsy just may be the most popular underground death metal act. A popular pick in Texas, indeed. Think low tuned guitars, with really complex riffing. Lots of technique, as well. Some of the best drumming I have encountered.

Don't know much about these guys, although I love their music. Judas Iscariot is the band's name. This album and An Ancient Starry Sky are really awesome black metal testimonials. Bare in mind that the recording is really diy and low budget. I've been listening to these guys the past couple of nights. Enjoy.
