Kick ass death metal from Splatterhouse. The House That Dead Built is filled with powerful riffing, and humorous samples.

New Darkthrone, entitled Fuck Off And Die. Punx.

Death's 1987 release, Scream Bloody Gore. This album has been noted as a thrash metal album; so if you don't like a lot of later Death stuff, you would probably dig this. Some of it sounds like another thrash band I listen to named Sodom.

One of best death metal bands of all time. Malevolent Creation are legends in the genre, and Retribution is proof of such.

"Moss is a three-piece extreme doom metal band from England. Influenced by H P Lovecraft and the occult, songs usually average the 20 minute mark and incorporate dense and otherworldly atmospheres. Despite being known for their use of extreme bass frequencies, Moss uses no bass guitarist."

If you've never heard Impaled, you haven't been missing out on anything original. This band is really good at sounding like Carcass, and it shows. I mean, this album is a little different than their previous efforts (faster, more complex riffing). It's a really catchy record. The Last Gasp indeed.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RJ08Y676

One of the better stoner doom metal bands out there. San Francisco's Acid King are a three piece musical ensemble blending the styles of Black Sabbath's first three albums with a psychedelic flare. I personally prefer them over a lot of other American bands in the doom genre. III is an incredible record. Sunshine and Sorrow is probably my stand out track.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=L2GS42AJ

I don't know much about this band American Football. I think that they only released one album; however, I see them as pioneers of their genre. Taking indie rock/"emo" and contorting it into a very minimalist, yet multi-layered sound. These songs are solid. I bought their cd in the 10th grade, I think...and it stays in constant play rotation. Horn melodies give a few of the songs some spice. Really get into this band.

Everyone has heard these guys. The link is to The Mars Volta's De-Loused in the Comatorium. Psychedelia in Funk fused rock form. De-Loused was their first major label release, and is co-produced with Rick Rubin (Slayer, Neil Diamond, and the man in black).

I love me some Abraxas. Santana's second or third album. This was the group at their best.

Al Di Meola is a really good jazz guitar player. His first album, Land of the Midnight Sun, really showcased what this dude was capable of at the time on it's conception. There would even be a Bach arrangement on the record. Enjoy this (really really stoned).

Are you too stoned to stand!?!? Well, Cleric is your band. The demo from Dallas, Texas' Cleric is a pretty original blemish of doom metal. I hear a ton of Boris, Mammatus, Sabbath, YOB, Grief, EYEHATEGOD, Sleep, and even some old COC. This isn't your typical doom band, by far. Long live the tyrants known as Cleric!!

I would post more, but I am fucking sick. Sucks. I will post more once I get over this shit. My girlfriend got meds for me. It ruled. Later. Yeah.....

Gustav Mahler's first symphony, aptly entitled The Titan, was not always welcomed with such warm reception. On the contrary, upon a disappointing opening night, Mahler decided to revise this piece. I think it's pretty sweet. My favorite movements are 3 and 4. His use of horn texture is incredible. Enjoy it; it's fucking sunday.

This is probably my favorite Boris album. If Earth are the drone pioneers, Dronevil is the new testament of drone. Sub frequency, low end bass tones, and crushing chord progressions. Perfect for a couple shots of whiskey or a bong rip. Note that this isn't similar to Amplifier Worship or any of the rock n roll stuff they have done.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UGUH9HDD

Need I really give any notation of how innovative this album still is? The opening track, Black Sabbath, is probably the most evil sounding rock tune of all time.

http://www.mediafire.com/?bjndfvcmm1a

Bjork's magnum opus. Actually, I think a lot of what she did was gold; this album is just brilliance. This is probably the last good collaboration that Mike Patton did. I've seen the accompanying DVD; The Making of Medulla I think. It's incredible. It really puts her musicianship into perspective.

The first time I heard Cephalic Carnage's Lucid Interval, I shit myself. Impressive Tech Death with a lot of grindcore influence. Some fans of "deathcore", may even enjoy this album. They are one of my favorite bands, although I don't quite get the new direction that they are taking their music.

More Sunn O))) now... This is Flight of the Behemoth. This album features collaborations with Japan's godfather of noise, Merzbow. It also features a cover of Metallica's For Whom The Bell Tolls, but in typical Sunn O))) fashion. If you like Black One, but prefer your drone metal without vocals, here you go. Low end, sub frequency bass. Enjoy.

A lot of people wanted me to burn the new album from Radiohead, because they are too lazy to get it from their site. Well fuckers...here you go. This record isn't really half bad. It's better than Hail To The Thief, with catchier songs and better use of instrumentation (although I personally prefer Amnesiac).

I thought that I would post some Sunn O))) tonight. Originally formed as a drone metal tribute to 90's drone pioneers Earth, Sunn O))) (like the amplifiers) present a sonic journey to any listener. This album is probably the pentacle of what they have acheived. This album is the most acclaimed thing that they've done. It also marks the turn from drone to a more dark, mystic atmosphere. The first time that I heard Black One, I recall feeling an emptiness in my soul expressed only through the attributed wall of sound. Bong up, shoot up, and drink up for this one.

Converge was my favorite band in the 9th grade. Really great band, though. When Forever Comes Crashing is probably the heaviest thing that they did; and yet, some debate that it's successors Jane Doe and You Fail Me are heavier. It's whatever. I couldn't really tell you where these guys draw their influence other than really vague genre tags. There is a lot of a hardcore punk influence. But I am sure that you know this. Everyone knows about these guys by now. This is When Forever Comes Crashing.

F♯A♯∞

Quite possibly the best musicians alive today. Godspeed You Black Emperor! formed in 1994 and hail from Montreal, Canada. They have the best song structures that I have ever heard. The best chord progressions I have heard from any band in any genre. Although this is not my favorite record they put out, it still offers nothing less than brilliant melodies, awesome samples, and intense instrumentation; experiment with sounds is all abundant. If you have any interest in classical forms; such as sonata allegro, you would find a lot of this album interesting.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=CVE99ABG

Buried At Sea's Migration is a meta stain in the depressive, occult history of the doom metal genre. The riffs seem Sabbath inspired, but not as much as many other doom bands accredit to their sound. The tone of the guitars is unbelievable. Really thick layered lows. The melodies on this album come second only to Asunder's works. Real doom metal heads listen to Buried At Sea hahahaha

http://www.mediafire.com/?854ulnykjd9

Those creative song writing bastards, some call them Ween, are back with La Cucaracha. These songs are so well crafted, in Ween's typical fashion. If you've never heard them before, I could guarantee that you have. haha We all have at some point. These guys have shit out songs the past 20 years. Woman and Man is a jammin track.

Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky was a Russian composer; one whom experienced endless of acclaim for his ballets and symphonies during the romantic era. This link is to his ballet The Sleeping Beauty.

Atheist is a band which influences my playing style a lot. Jazzed fused death metal with a lot of different rhythms happening. The riffs are catchy and played about as precisely as I have ever heard.

Cryptopsy - Whisper Supremacy

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=391GXLWT

On top of being one of my favorite bands, they put on the best shows; note for note. Montreal's Cryptopsy just may be the most popular underground death metal act. A popular pick in Texas, indeed. Think low tuned guitars, with really complex riffing. Lots of technique, as well. Some of the best drumming I have encountered.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=C7KPNNYI

Raw tones!!
Sludgy blues riffs!!!
Goatsblood's self titled album rips my guts out!!

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H7XDD9PQ

Don't know much about these guys, although I love their music. Judas Iscariot is the band's name. This album and An Ancient Starry Sky are really awesome black metal testimonials. Bare in mind that the recording is really diy and low budget. I've been listening to these guys the past couple of nights. Enjoy.
