Are you too stoned to stand!?!? Well, Cleric is your band. The demo from Dallas, Texas' Cleric is a pretty original blemish of doom metal. I hear a ton of Boris, Mammatus, Sabbath, YOB, Grief, EYEHATEGOD, Sleep, and even some old COC. This isn't your typical doom band, by far. Long live the tyrants known as Cleric!!

Gustav Mahler's first symphony, aptly entitled The Titan, was not always welcomed with such warm reception. On the contrary, upon a disappointing opening night, Mahler decided to revise this piece. I think it's pretty sweet. My favorite movements are 3 and 4. His use of horn texture is incredible. Enjoy it; it's fucking sunday.

This is probably my favorite Boris album. If Earth are the drone pioneers, Dronevil is the new testament of drone. Sub frequency, low end bass tones, and crushing chord progressions. Perfect for a couple shots of whiskey or a bong rip. Note that this isn't similar to Amplifier Worship or any of the rock n roll stuff they have done.

Need I really give any notation of how innovative this album still is? The opening track, Black Sabbath, is probably the most evil sounding rock tune of all time.

Bjork's magnum opus. Actually, I think a lot of what she did was gold; this album is just brilliance. This is probably the last good collaboration that Mike Patton did. I've seen the accompanying DVD; The Making of Medulla I think. It's incredible. It really puts her musicianship into perspective.

The first time I heard Cephalic Carnage's Lucid Interval, I shit myself. Impressive Tech Death with a lot of grindcore influence. Some fans of "deathcore", may even enjoy this album. They are one of my favorite bands, although I don't quite get the new direction that they are taking their music.

It's better than Hail To The Thief, with catchier songs and better use of instrumentation (although I personally prefer Amnesiac).

I thought that I would post some Sunn O))) tonight. Originally formed as a drone metal tribute to 90's drone pioneers Earth, Sunn O))) (like the amplifiers) present a sonic journey to any listener. This album is probably the pentacle of what they have acheived. This album is the most acclaimed thing that they've done. It also marks the turn from drone to a more dark, mystic atmosphere. The first time that I heard Black One, I recall feeling an emptiness in my soul expressed only through the attributed wall of sound. Bong up, shoot up, and drink up for this one.

Converge was my favorite band in the 9th grade. Really great band, though. When Forever Comes Crashing is probably the heaviest thing that they did; and yet, some debate that it's successors Jane Doe and You Fail Me are heavier. It's whatever. I couldn't really tell you where these guys draw their influence other than really vague genre tags. There is a lot of a hardcore punk influence. But I am sure that you know this. Everyone knows about these guys by now. This is When Forever Comes Crashing.

Quite possibly the best musicians alive today. Godspeed You Black Emperor! formed in 1994 and hail from Montreal, Canada. They have the best song structures that I have ever heard. The best chord progressions I have heard from any band in any genre. Although this is not my favorite record they put out, it still offers nothing less than brilliant melodies, awesome samples, and intense instrumentation; experiment with sounds is all abundant. If you have any interest in classical forms; such as sonata allegro, you would find a lot of this album interesting.

Buried At Sea's Migration is a meta stain in the depressive, occult history of the doom metal genre. The riffs seem Sabbath inspired, but not as much as many other doom bands accredit to their sound. The tone of the guitars is unbelievable. Really thick layered lows. The melodies on this album come second only to Asunder's works. Real doom metal heads listen to Buried At Sea hahahaha
